No, I haven't abandoned this blog, and no, I am not going to turn it into a political blog.
But as a proud 'Murrican, I feel today as though - after too many holds on the pad - the first stage engines have thrusted up, the restraining clamps have released, and we are rising once again into the open sky.
We have cleared the pad, and all systems are nominal.

I'm not wildly enthusiastic about Obama. I think he is likely to be considerably better than the previous POTUS, but his actions over the next year or two will determine whether he deserves enthusiasm.
